Volkswagen gave the Arteon four-door coupe a quick refresh for 2021, but they took a little bit longer to price the updated and refined grand tourer. Tweaked to give the model a much more upscale appearance and more features, the Arteon will start for a grand more than last year.

The visual tweaks outside include an all-new grille that can be had with an LED light bar crossing the headlights, and it also has a new script for the Arteon name on the tail. Inside the changes are far more significant and the entire dashboard is all-new.

That means the whole thing. Even the vents are new, along with some much more upscale materials including leathers, fabrics, and faux leathers. There's also some new aluminum trim and an available 30-colour LED ambient lighting system that really helps make it feel more premium. Same goes for the now-standard digital dash, showing you're getting a lot of content for that extra Grover Cleveland (yes, that's who was on the last thousands, we looked it up).

The SE Arteon starts from $36,995 and includes the stuff we mentioned above and the (only engine offered) 2.0L turbo-four with 268 hp and an eight-speed auto. IT also has keyless access, rain-sensing wipers, 12-way heated front seats finished in leatherette, and standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. SEL R-Line at $41,595 ($43,395 with AWD) gets 19s, that light bar, panoramic roof, adaptive lights, and R-line trim plus more active safety features.

Top of the line SEL Premium R-Line rings in at $46,995 and has all-wheel drive included as well as 20-inch wheels, Harman/Kardon audio, heated wheel, massaging driver seat, ventilated front seats and heated rears as well as easy open-close power hatch.

The 2021 Volkswagen Arteon is set to hit dealers this quarter.
