VW’s slinky electric wagon is going into production according to the brand’s CEO, Ralf Brandstätter. As of 2023 Germany’s Emden plant will have its second electric production model.

The project is being named “Aero B,” according to a post the executive made on LinkedIn and it is VW’s interpretation of a sustainable premium product.

“It impresses with high-quality interiors and a lot of space: classy and spacious like a Phaeton, along with huge trunk volume. And with 700km a real range hero,” said Brandstätter in the post, translated by LinkedIn. “Its aerodynamic design ensures a top cw value and an extremely attractive high-tech appearance. A feast for the senses – and for all tech and design fans!”

Along with the post, Brandstätter posted a picture of the Space Vizzion concept. The concept has a coefficient of drag of 0.24 that helps increase range. According to Brandstätter’s recent post, that will amount to 700 km (435 miles) of range.

Making up to 355 hp, the concept could apparently charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes.

As we wrote back when the concept was unveiled a year ago, the cockpit display is replaced by an augmented reality head-up display, with a small gauge cluster showing just basic info. Everything else is projected on a 15.6-inch touchscreen that looks like it's hovering in front of the driver.

There were a lot of other fancy tech pieces, like ambient lighting, touch-capacitive steering wheel buttons, and voice controls. Read all about it here.
