Fancy sound systems have long been associated with Volkswagen. Just last week they revealed the Golf GTI Heartbeat , a one-off concept with a serious sound system at Wörthersee, and before that there was the Beetle Fender Edition .

Now, the Polo Beats is ready to be ordered in European showrooms. Built in conjunction with Dr. Dre’s BeatsAudioTM, the little hatch is going to make big sound. That’s thanks to a seven-speaker system with a 300 watt, eight-channel amp.

The system runs through two tweeters in the A-pillars, two woofers in the front doors, two broadband speakers in the rear doors, and a subwoofer in the spare wheel compartment.

Volkswagen promises that buyers won’t just be able to hear their music, they’ll be able to feel it, too.

Outside, the Polo Beats will be identifiable thanks to its 16-inch syenite allow wheels, offered in white or black. Colored mirrors, too, will tell this car apart from a normal Polo, as well as decorative side trim, and a glossy black grille.

Inside, the Polo Beats gets sports seats and door panels trimmed with the Beats design. Colored seat belts will keep owners safe and leather steering wheel finishes off the look.

Volkswagen are so pleased with the idea that an Up! Beats will also be offered this summer.

The Polo Beats is ready to be ordered today, with prices starting at €15,975 (£13,910).
