Should I keep my Jetta or go for the Coupe?
I can't decide. If I keep the Jetta, I'll probably go Turbo. The problem is It's starting to get up there in miles (about 122K), I'm afraid a Turbo will destroy it.

Yeah. I think I am going to run into the same problem. In 4 years when I finish University I am going to get a GTI VR6, hopefully (plz God!). However, I am afraid that I will not be able to find one with less than 100Kms. For me I will most likely have to find one in MINT exterior and interior condition and then just spend about 3000 upgrading engine internals (cam, pistons, etc..) and then enjoy a basically 'brand new' engine. Believe me, VW can go forever if treated right. My brother's ride has 320Kms (before he modded it and my Passat from my dad has 400Kms +
quote:

I tink hes just talking about the z3 ....uhmm... my opinion its a girly car....either keep your vr6 and rebuild it ...or get an m3 or mcoupe.....

I'm talking about the Z3 Coupe, not the convertible. I'm not sure whether I can afford the M or not. Regardless it's gonna be used. The Coupe is an inline 6cyl that makes 190hp. The MCoupe is an inline 6cyl that makes about 240hp.
My wife has a 93 Cabby so I'll still be a dubber. Plus I want to get a A1 GTi too. Too many dreams.......
if you're going to jump ship, wait for the new EVO VIII Lancer and have a nice little
uhh, family car. other than than, make sure you like the handling of the coupe first, they're a little twitchy
I wanted a Lancer for a long time. They are awesome. I heard they were coming, but they are starting to look kinda goofy now. Plus, if I go BMW, at least it's still German....right?
Z Coupe is a nice car, but I wouldn't trade any VW in on it. If going for a BMW get a M3 or 5 or 7 series http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
If you wanna stay German, get a 944 turbo http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Has some of the best handling from what I hear, and they look great, and it'd be a lot cheaper than a z3
I don't know much about Z3's, but I have heard that there were quite a few complaints from BMW owners as far as small things breaking--which you should be used to if you're a dubber! I'd stay with your VR6 and instead of buying a turbo, save it for a down payment on a used BMW certified E36 M3. It's more practical and can be as much of an animal as you'd like to spend..
Just go and take a test drive in one, find someone and let the let you take it for a test flight. That will say it all. If you don't feel that its a much better car, then don't take it, if you really like it, then buy it. The little things in the BMW that will break down will eventually demoralize you as you don't really expect it from a "Quality German Automobile", such as the digital display randomly losing its pixels. The coolent light, check engine light, and other unidentified lights spratically going on and off. After owning the BMW for a while, you notice that it creaks and cracks all over the place, it won't sound as tight as it once did. But, when ever you get into a fight with your wife, you can always take a ride in the coupe as hard as you can, and go to your local hotel/night club and pick up a free lay for the night to calm you down.
