Ok I found my engine, but I need to go over the wiring with someone. I will be swapping the engine into my 97 4 door golf. Am I gonna have to completely redo the harness? I know once the wiring is done that it will go down hill from there, so will some people who have done the swap fill me in with some detail of how hard this is?

Hey Joe,
I just looked at the wiring diagrams in the back of my Bentley manual...I am not an electrical savvy guy, but it looks like the ECU will connect, but the wiring looks tough - I didn't realize how difficult it is. It looks like you would need everything from the fuse box forward basically. But like I said, I am not an expert on electrical crap...so someone enlighten us, please

it shouldnt be hard at all...if u can get the wiring harness for a vr6, from the fuse box to the engine u shouldnt have a problem its mainly plug n play!
