I have gradually gon down to 87 octane and I really think it's slower with 87 than 89. 89-91 felt the same (FAST AS HELL) but now its just FAST. Just me?

Re: VR6ers....what octane gas do you use (Knockwurst)

Does it make a difference?? YES it does on the VR6, you should use no less than 92(runs like crap and seems sluggish) and no more than 92(waste of money, VR6 runs fine on 92)
You could try to put a small amount of regular 87 on your next fill up and see what you think....I did it, my engine was not responsive at all and it was noisier..
Peace

94 all the way!
If I'm not mistaken if you are chipped, as I am, the higher the better, otherwise 92 is the way to go.

Yes... surprising as it may be... the VR6 will run better on 92+ octane... especially if u got a chip.

I always run Premium on my cars.
I prefer Mobil / Chevron
Not that it matters they are just who I prefer.

your car requires 91 octane. You shouls always use 92, and never drop below 89! I used to make that same mistake, but I learned.

Re: VR6ers....what octane gas do you use (betta jetta)

Well, in Cali, 91 is all there is. I'm sure it will do, but at over $1.50 a gallon, it's no fun to pay to play....wait a minute-it IS fun! That dyno test is interesting, I wish it would have shown what the octane/car it was.
