VW will offer the Golf V (in Europe) from now on with three more petrol engine options.
There will be a new 1.4 FSI (direct fuel injection) with 90hp, a 1.6 with 102hp (like in the Golf IV in Europe) and a completely new developed 2.0 FSI with 150hp, so that there is now a total of 7 engine options available.
The 105hp 1.9 TDI engine is the most sold engine option so far, the most sold color is reflexsilver, 2nd black magic pearleffect. Petrol : diesel is 50:50.

wasnt there a second 2.0L FSI being offered that had a power rating of 130hp or so? so did they replace that one with a more powerful one or did they keep the 130hp one as well? or am i just imagining that the the 130hp 2.0L FSI engine was ever offered?

You are, the most powerful gas engine for the Golf V so far is the 1.6 FSI with 115hp.

I went on VWs German site and there is no 2L FSi available at all. But what bugs me is that i read somewhere that an Australian publication tested a 130 HP 2.0 FSI back a few months ago, can somebody correct me if i'm wrong?

Maybe they drove a TDI, although there´s no 130hp TDI either in Golf V /there was in the Golf IV), only a 2l 140hp TDI.
Beside Australians quote power in KW not hp, so maybe you mixed something up in the conversion. 130KW = 174hp (although that doesn´t make much more sense now)

The 2.0 FSI is already available in Germany (only in Comfortline- or Sportline-Trim) and develops 110 kW / 150 HP. The other engines mentioned also can be ordered since the beginning of the year (1.6, 75 kW / 102 HP) or the end of november (1.4 FSI 66 kW / 90 HP) ...
