LinkyConversion to two-shift system in the Transparent Factory in Dresden
Production record in 2010 of 7,500 Phaetons
Dresden, 25 January 2011 - Due to increasing demand, the Transparent Factory will now produce the Phaeton in a two shift system. Last year saw around 7,500 Phaetons manufactured - an all-time record for the factory. For 2011, Jürgen Borrmann, regional manager of the factory, expects a further increase.
"The whole team has delivered an outstanding performance in 2010," said Borrmann. "The transition to two-shift system for the transparent factory is an important step towards the future." Borrmann is optimistic: "I am convinced that the team will deliver top results in 2011."
Production starts every day at 6:00am in the morning and ends by 11:00pm. On Friday the second shift ends at 9:00pm. Each day 48 Phaeton are currently assembled by hand. Since the factory opened on 11 December 2001 it has built around 50,000 Phaetons. In the Transparent Factory in Dresden, about 500 people are employed.
Guided tours are offered seven days a week from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
