Has anyone with this warranty had to use it yet? And if so, what was your experience with it?
I got the 3 year 37(?),000 mile warranty with the VW MasterGuard thing and I was just wondering how good it is.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Just wondering if I should get something else, if necessary
Ive used it a few times...
100,000 mile warranty I pay $25.00 deductable each time it goes in the shop.
Except this past one, first they said they would replace the light then they said they wouldnt.... didnt matter VW payed for it...
It sucks. We were told and read what it covered and when it came time for the MAF to be replaced. They refused to pay. I brought it to their attention that in their coverage literature it said it was covered. In the end they paid but with a damn good fight. Let me know how it works out for you. Later
I got the MasterGuard Warranty when I got my GTI (Metro VW in South Philly). Mine is good up to 60,000mi. My car just turned 36,000. Only had to use it once so far. My driver's side regulator (suprise) went kaput about a month ago. I now live in Northern NJ and had to take my car to EAST COAST VW in Fort Lee. They said they had to call the warranty company to see if the part was covered (I KNEW it would be). It was and they fixed it. Warranty also covered the rental I needed to get back and forth to work.
Just an fyi... I also carry GEICO Mecahnical Breakdown Insurance for all my cars.... as a just in case. Deductable is a bit higher I think like $100 - $200 but I have used them for problems with past cars and they always came through.... and no milage limit on coverage.
So, if VW doesnt take care of it.... Masterguard then Gieco.
Its a little extra a year but It calms my heart and gives me piece of mind.
