Wanted Factory option codes explained

Could some knowlegable VW nut please help me decipher the Factory tag from the back of my Jetta?
I tried the local dealer and the originall selling dealer (in another state) a few times in two weeks and nobody answered me.
I could only get the vague answer that it would say what the factory originally installed in the car before it was sold.
this is what is on the tag:
V.I.N. 3VWWB81H7TM11####
N.I.N. JETTA TREK 2.0 L TLEV STD CALI
Type 1H24M4
Eng.code/Trans.code ABA AMC
PaintNo./Interior LB9A EH
Options X9A C2N G0C H1G J1L K8B M4W U1M
V0L 0A2 1AG 1C2 1G4 1H1 3AM
3BW 0DG 3L1 3Q1 3YH 4A0 8BJ

Re: Wanted Factory option codes explained (Carnut70)

In a more general request, I'd like to know of any resource that allows one to know option codes for VWs. Anyone?
Re: Wanted Factory option codes explained (Carnut70)

Well...I know that the 3 in your VIN number means it was made in Mexico and ABA means you have a 2.0 litre. Beyond that, no idea.
I would try posting in the Mk3 forum, you'll get more responses and exposure there.
Re: Wanted Factory option codes explained (Red Baron Golf)

I tried there already.

VIN-decoder (not completely correct, but anyway) here: http://home.earthlink.net/~megantic/vwvin/vw-faq.html
3VW - made in Mexico
W - ?
B - next smallest engine
8 - airbag(s)?
1H - Model, VW Golf/Jetta III
7 - ?
T - model year 1996
M - Plant: Mexico
11#### - Sequential production number
Paint codes (VW-color always starts with L): http://www.standox.co.uk/formulations/formulations.asp - your car is Candywhite

As for the option codes, I've asked my dealer several times about this, but even they doesn't have the complete list

I know all the above, thanks for trying. Your dealer does have ETKA and can explain they just don't want to spend the time and research it.
Why else would the original dealer that sold the car in '96 "not able to decipher the codes" they ordered the car and have the original invoice!

The dealer in El Paso from whom I bought it used has both US and Euro ETKA(cause we have German troops training here) won't help cause "they're too busy".
THey got my money and don't care anymore, I couldnot get them to fix anything while I had a warranty but they sure can fix it now.

VWoA customer service called and basically said they could not get that info, bla, bla, bla 15min.bla,bla,bla, try the dealer, the dealer says try talking to customer(dis)service. As useful as a screen door on a submarine.
