I have a 2017 VW that I got in 2018 only has 24.4K miles and I was told the warranty expired last year??? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I did a google search and keep seeing vehicles my age have longer warranties with higher miles that are standard. I feel like something isn't right. Is this common or thoughts please?

Warranty is based on time as well as mileage. So your bumper to bumper warranty is 3 years or 36k, whichever comes first. You should still be under powertrain though, as that's 5 years/60k.

VW has a short new car warranty. I was considering trading in my Jetta for a 17 Jetta with the TSI for 12k with 15,000 miles. Its already completely out of warranty! it drive nice but part of me wonder why such low miles traded in, perhaps something fishy that could can't tell from a short test drive.
