By now, many of you are likely aware of Boba Motorsport’s exploits. The little 1,233 hp, AWD Mk2 Golf has a ferocious appetite for drag strips and is back with another video published this weekend.

With a quarter time of 8.67 seconds at 174-ish miles per hour, this Volkswagen is pretty much the ultimate sleeper. From the outside, it essentially looks like any other Golf. The tires aren’t even that thick and yet it can get to 60 as quickly as a Bugatti Veyron.

In another video (below) the Boba Motoring compares the car’s performance to other sport, super, and hypercars. And of course, who knows how much one car’s speedometer can be trusted, so the video ought to be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s a handy demonstration of what the drag strip timing sheet backs up.

It should hardly be surprising anymore that Golfs can be made to do ridiculous things, but it’s still wild to see a hatchback that would make a Ferrari LaFerrari owner weep.
