water dripping into car?

i don't know if it's normal, but whenever i open my car door and it's raining/finished raining, water from the foamy part of the door (inside) would drip onto the seats. they would be BIG drops of water. i don't see that happening to my friend's gti... it's getting pretty annoying 'cause when you get into the car you're pretty much sitting on a wet seat...
has anyone had this happen to them before?
