Got a light out warning on my 2020 GTI Autobahn. Pulled the left rear light assembly and water poured out. I'd estimate 8-12 ounces. Let it drain, then replaced it etc. Lights work and code is gone. Is this a known issue? I've seen condensation inside light housings before but never anything like this. Next stop is at the dealer to have them look at it.

Why did you drain your blinker fluid? lol

Sounds like you have a damaged rubber surround/gasket.

I've had this on older cars and just drilled a 1/8" or smaller drain hole.

Your car should still be under warranty, no?

Yeah just bring it in under warranty. Gasket is crunched or the unit was not installed tightly or it has a crack. They'll probably replace the whole thing actually since it was so wet.
