I had a suggestion in another thread to use Redline Watter Wetter to reduce coolant temps...anyone have any positive/negative results with the stuff?

nice...are there different kinds that i should look for? What does it do for you in cold climates?? Upstate NY is a little different than the desert, does it also help you at the extreme low end of the spectrum?

quote:

its said to helpin all climates. Get the PINK stuff and also make sure your coolant is pink too please.

I believe my coolant is green...will it still work with this?
Re: Watter Wetter (Juicejetta3)

Funny, my roommate and I use Prestone anti-freeze and it's [florescent] green but it doesn't contain any phosphates. The coloring is used to help identify the fluid from normal water and doesn't necessarily identify the chemical composition of the liquid.
Re: Watter Wetter (VR6 Mk3)

I've been using the Watter Wetter in my dub for about 2 years now. I've noticed cooler temps but nothing drastic. It hasn't hurt my car any. It's supposed to help in cold as well as hot climates. It's kinda expensive but if you've got the funds, by all means use it!!! Just my experince!!

I see that some people have a preference for the pink stuff. If that is DEXCOOL it is pure crap and would not use it in my car for nothing. Rather stick to the Prestone stuff. It has worked real good on my 2.slo and does not create a lot of residue. The DEXCOOL crap if mixed with water or ran with "air pockets" creates a mud-like substance that clogs up your cooling system, not to mention the radiator and heater core needing replacing. Anybody out there had this experience with their 97+ GM trucks??
