Ok, my engine is makin a really weird noise...from 2500 to about 3200 rpms. Its not really a rattle, really hard to describe....as the cam chain been known to make noises? thats all i can think of. It seems to come from the drivers side of the engine compartment, and it is independent of speed, but related to engine RPMs... Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated!!!
ahhh, maybe the flex coupling for the dual DP?? just throwing ideas out there
more info: it sounds like a metal sound. dammit, that doesnt help either, i know
I have a sound like that, but I know it is the makeshift aluminum bracket I made for my K&N oil breather.
Loose bolts somewhere, I torqued my valve cover to specs 1.5 years ago. Last month when I pulled the manifold I found that a few bolts were loose.
broken ac braket. I had mine break and it made all kinds of werid metalic vibration sounds. It also broke damn near all of my other brakets before i figured out what it was. Mine only did it between 2800 and 3200. As the engine was reving up as soon as it hit 2800 the vibration level just increased like 10x and then went away after 3200.
good luck
i was just about to say broken ac braket, did it at the same exact rpms. goes from a/c to the back of the block. or atleast this bracket on mine did. get your self a stethoscope (sp?) oh and make sure its not your keys rattling.
