Re: well i think im gettin rid of my gti- trading for a g60 raddo (16v po boy)

You wanna know WHY he wants a 16v?? Cause G60's like to break down. Trust me on this one, a close friend of mine has spent 10G's to get his G60 raddo running again. If you do this, know that G60's are TEN TIMES the money pit of any other dub!
Its your decision, just be wise about it.

a raddo would be fun, but the REAL big cost is the charger. make sure it's been done recently, otherwise you're lookin at AT LEAST another grand right off the bat. plus there are a lot of notorious C problems, like non-function rear wing, and i think that they might have had a leaky sun roof problem too...if he wants to trade straight up, i'd say you'd be getting the long end of the deal regardless, but on top of the problems you encounter with the gti you're likely to find a lot more with the C-they are just more complex cars in general. is that to say that i wouldn't get one? oh hell no, i'd get one in a heartbeat if the right one presented itself

Get the Cor man!!! You will have loads of fun. Make sure you do regular oil changes!!! and watch for the oil in the out let pipe of the charger as this could mean rebuild time!!
Don't know what the companies are like out there?!?!?!

when the charger blows up just go turbo then, it's a fairly inexpensive conversion, alot faster and 100 times more reliable than the G charger. I blew up two of them and one of them was deemed non-rebuildable, yeah, you get the picture, these superchargers aren't too reliable. Did I mention that this was all within 8 months???
Buuuut, I still love this engine. Supercharger aside, this motor really is practically bulletproof. And very fast too. I love it, it's just a money pit.

coming from a current 16v owner (91 gli) and a past yellow g60 rado owner, u betta have DEEP pockets if u wanna own a rado, specially a g60. they git hella exspensive. the charger is only one of the long list of common problems, the power seat belts are known to go, the wing, the sunroof and other item along these lines, all are hella spendy to fix...

No, no. It really won't.
G60 boost will make you forget all about it. (just don't put focal wheels and a wind deflector on it

Your friend got Jacked.
A low mileage G60 motor doesn't cost more than 1200 bucks.
New charger from the dealer is 1200 bucks.
How the hell did he/she rack up 10k?!?!?
Seems almost impossible...

5G for the motor, and the rest adds up quite quickly. And no, he didnt get ripped off, he got what many only hope for. tht car is basically new from the ground up.

Ur lying out your @ss buddy. For one you can't get them at the dealerships in the US anymore and two they cost over 2 grand new.
10Gs sounds right. I've put about that much into my engine in the last year. Four superchargers, a head rebuild, seems kinda like a run of the mill figure for G60 owners if you ask me.
