Re: went to the dyno today...VRT content (abetterkyle)

Your peak power looks good for 15 psi and so does your afr. What's with the dip up top? What size turbo? Exhaust? Tune? Injectors?

Re: went to the dyno today...VRT content (ValveCoverGasket)

the dip we think is caused by the ignition, maybe getting too hot, either that or maybe dumping too much water into my intake mani from my DO Water Meth Kit.
I'm running 42# injectors.
c2 software
walbro 255
what do i need to do to get over 400whp? obviously figure out what my spark issue is.
we turn up the boost and it acts like its missing like crazy!

could be too much water putting out the spark.
can you try running without the WI on? do you have an intercooler?

i will try it without the W/M. I learned in another post i made that the 42# injector should run to 450whp...
what would i need to get it to at least that? just have it tuned?

Re: went to the dyno today...VRT content (abetterkyle)

more power is NOT made by adding water/meth inj.
More boost the only way to get there.
Water/meth just allows you run more boost than without,
and add ignition timing. (you can do this yourself)
Unless your into the mid 20's psi boost you shouldn't need meth. inj.
Power numbers are good for ~15psi boost.

correct me if i'm wrong but almost 13 to 1 AFR is not good for a boosted setup

Ok your wrong.......
Anything under 13 is good....too much fuel is for covering up other tuning problems like to much timing or compression.....anywhere between 12-12.9 is all good..hell even 13

Re: (Salsa GTI)

Garrett T04E 60-1 .70/.69 w/ custom water cooled center housing
thats the turbo i'm running.
i unplugged the WMI on the way home from work, did some pulling and it still stuttered. I may try to bring my plug gap to .018
after i figure whats up with this stutter i'm going to tune it with lemiwinks for the WMI.
just a thought but would it be wise to try to put on stock ignition and see what it does?

Re: went to the dyno today...VRT content (NeverEnding...)

Turbo size doesent matter as long as it doesent fall out of min 70% VE.
So the only way for him to get [email protected] is to have ,brutal ingnition timing cams and BVH
because 400whp will require 210-220Hp already in N/A mode to be able to flow that spec hp nr at the spec boost.
Jeff is correct with 20psi+ if you are on OEM cams etc.
174Hp +1 atmosphere+1bar boost = 348Hp
174Hp +1 atmosphere+1.37bar boost =413Hp

So for 15psi you nr´s are well over anyones expectasions

What size water injector are you using? What are you using? Just water?
It does seem like an ignition misfire. Are you still using the stock ignition? I would probably not bring down the gap, instead go to a colder plug.

Re: (Weiss)

awesome, i'm happy with the numbers at 15 psi, just not what i was wanting.
I am running 42# injectors, with appropriate C2 software.
I Just replaced my MSD ignition coils/wires with another ICM and coil pack and wires. Kept my plug gap at .022.
I have been running a 50/50 mix of water meth.
I took it out last night after replacing the ignition and it is pulling smooth as butter. I am dry on my water meth, so i need to refill it, but i'm stoked!! time to get it pull the timing back some!
