I have a 2013 VW cc 2.0 TSI with about 100k miles, and I want to install a catch can after I perform the first carbon cleaning (hopefully soon). The idea is to delay the next carbon cleaning as much as possible, and catch cans seem a good solution.

I browsed a lot online and I see many different opinions, and option ranges too. From 20$ catch cans, to 500$ integrated engineering or from shopdap. The convenience of the 500+$ ones is that they have the exact mounts for my specific car, but if there’s a universal one for 150$ that performs the same I’m all for that honestly.

I would like to see opinions and suggestions from people who have experience with this on VW CCs.

How so? There’s a lot of people that did experiments and it looked like it does. Can you explain?
It's the simulated EGR (valve timing overlap) and direct injection that is the cause of the intake valve deposits.

You only have to do a carbon clean every 80k to 100k anyway. Catch cans sound like a good idea on the surface, but most of what they collect is water. I don't think they make any kind of meaningful difference. It just becomes another maintenance item with little to no benefit.

Another thing to consider. If you live in a cold weather climate where things freeze, the lines can actually freeze solid. When that happens, your crankcase can't vent and you blow out every seal in the engine.
