Ok I just got a coustic 1044 10" dual voice sub, specs are 400W and 4 ohms

Anyway im wondering what specs i need to be looking for in the Amp i get for this thing
can i get 400W going to each voice of the sub or does it mean 200W for one voice and 400 for both?
leme know what you think.....i really dont know much about this beyond, thats a sub, thats an amp

My suggestion:
Get an amp that will push a little over 400W RMS (the RMS is important!) at 2ohms (the 2ohms is also very important). The Phoenix Gold QX 900.1 is an example of such an amp.
Wire the 2 coils in parrallel (not series). This way the amp will see a total impedance of 2ohms.
If you're confused by this, either have a car stereo retailer pick out and install your amp, or IM me and I'll explain in better detail.
