I'm thinking of getting the Euro front chin spoiler from http://www.parts4vws.com and it says that euro splash guards are recomended. What are they or what do they look like because there is a package price that they sell???

Look under your car, they run from the chin spoiler to the wheel well. They prevent water from splashing up into your engine bay when driving in the wet....

why exactly are they recommended with the euro chin though?? Do they not fit with the euro chin? I would also like to know the answer

The euro ones are longer or something and your NA ones will not work with the euro chin spoiler. They are too short. Thats what i'vw gathered anyway.

I will take a picture of mine in the day time, but basically the NA spec ones do not fit right. Most people run without them, and aside from the benefit of having them there for water protection (especailly if you have an open intake...) it comes down to looks....it is a pet peve of mine when people skip them. When you look inside the wheel well from the rear towards the front, you can see inside the euro lip instead of a nice black wheel well all the way down. It is hard to explain, but it looks very unfinished and unfactory without them....

Re: What are the splash guards??? (SBGTi96)

What is needed to be done to the bumper or to the chin spoiler to get it on correctly??? And are the euro splash guards easy to install, same with the chin spoiler???
Re: What are the splash guards??? (VDoubleUVR6)

what I dont get is a set of NA splash guards are 10Bucks, yet a set of Euro ones are 50

maybe we should get some kind of group buy going on, since its probably just $ since not that many people buy them, who would be interested?

I used my stock splash gaurds with my Euro chin! I just removed the screws, mounted the chin, and put the screw's back on! It looks exactly like it did before... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
