What color Optima battery do I buy for my a2 GTI????

I need a new battery so I am going to spend the money and buy a Optima Gel Cel battery. But what one do I buy....the red top one or the yellow top one?? I need it to have stock post setup. thanks

i believe the yellow one if you have alot of ICE and the red if you just need it to start really good

may have to make a bracket as when I sized the standard 41 model for A2's it was wider then a optima by half inch.

yellow is deep cycle red is standard blue is for marine? applications.
deep cycle is only better for applications were the battery is going to be drained down and charged back up again a lot. for exaple cars that are in storage alot, rv's, motorcycles ect.
for normal car appliations the standard red top is probably best. i have a yellow top cause i used to live downtown and walk everywhere plus we have the three cars so the car only got driven once a month or so for a long time.
you do have to modify your batt tray to get them to fit right also. nothing major.

the red top has reveresd terminals. you need to find an orange top, so they say, but i have never seen one. i have the red one, and i just modded my negative terminal to make it work.
