there was a used one for sale recently for like $2k. with the NA DVD's and all. sweet piece, if you have the means i highly recommend you pick one up. So choice.

You mean CD's. OEM VW Nav systems are CD based, not DVD based.

Yes. For the OEM Touareg Nav, I believe there is something like 7 or 8 CD's for the U.S. alone, it is probably the same for the one from PerfCafe. So if you go from state to state, you might have to end up changing the CD's 2 or 3 times. With a DVD based unit, however, there is only 1 DVD with the maps for the U.S. and I think Canada or part of Mexico, not sure which. If you ever see an Acura MDX or other car that has a Nav unit, check to see if it's DVD based and if it is you will see how much info that DVD holds.

right, what you say make sense, and yes, many car manufacturers do use CD, but regardless, the NA disc would still be required for operation. that's my point, and I'm not challenging or trying to be a stickler.
