I'm driving in for the jays game tonight. Any good places to park? roads to avoid? best pregame meal around the park?

There's not much to do in Detroit compared to other major cities. Hockeytown cafe right across the street on Woodward is not bad and there are a bunch of parking lots behind it for $15-$20.

When I go to Tiger games I usually park at Nemo's on Michigan Ave. close to the old Tigers stadium. It's a little bar but a great place for drinks and they have a bus that takes you right to Comerica Park. As far as food they only have burgers and chicken sandwiches. Probably not the best place for an out-of-towner.
Hockeytown cafe's good stuff. There used to be a few free lots just west of the stadium itself. Otherwise bring a camera
The stadium's gorgeous and very photogenic (if u take pics, might not be your thing). Have fun!

you're right stadium was beautiful. Especially compared to the eyesore we having in the skydome. everything was great save the foot long chili cheese dog (we don't have that sort of thing in Canada) and the jays completely destructing in the 5th.

u know what's funny?! I actually turned on SportsCenter to see how the game went for you
After the season the Tigers have been having (well let's just say the last 2 decades) I only catch the games about once or twice a month anymore lol
sorry to see ya lost (especially to us! lol) but i'm glad you had a good time
aren't those sculptures of the Tigers (the onces coming out of the pillars along the front) just ridiculous?! I really love that place, but miss the nostaglia of Tiger's Stadium

ya I loved when they played eye of the tiger and showed the tiger on the scoreboard. Cheesy/ funny. Comerica is beautiful though. Skydome is the worst stadium in the majors next to "the big Au" in Montreal. One thing I noticed though. the prizes they gave away were garbage. a tote bag? A $20 gift certificate for groceries. That's @ss. At the jays game they give away cars from time to time and the smallest prizes would at least be a flat screen tv. Actually considering how few people we get out to a game your odds aren't that bad of winning something.

shoot if we got any spectators out there they might consider it!

but seriously i'd probably go to the Jays games just to try to win a prize!
the prizes can definitly be "cheezy"...i would expect nothing less
