Scirocco wipers bolt right up.
I've got several if you are interested.

Yeah, from me

I'll do up a proto tomorrow and snap some pics, same length or longer or shorter? I've also been tweaking a wiper arm to sit on the left side like a right hand drive wiper arm. All you would need to do is flip the Scirocco linkage. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Wait, scirocco's have a 180 degree sweep motor in them stock?
I would love to get a uni wiper for mine if it lays flat and sweeps 180 degrees. Anyone able to help me out?

Just find one from a 1st gen scirocco, it bolts right up. I've got one in my corrado, its pretty cool. I wouldn't do it in the rabbit unless I did some bodywork to cover up the old holes though....

single wiper mystery

Driftin FTI Couldn't you just use a Mk2 arm? i guess the blade would be slightly offset, but at least it would be straight. To make it park in the center all you need to do is loosen the linkage bolt that attaches to the arm (from the motor) and move the arm to the position you desire. PRO TIP : Make sure the arm was in the "rest" position before you do this.
Schleppy I'm pretty sure that all the motors are the same; it's the linkage that has been changed to allow for a greater sweep area (different gears on your bike change your speed kind of theory).

The drive hub for the wiper arms are smaller on the A1 cars vs. the A2 cars.

Re: single wiper mystery (130_R)

Well, my origional plan was to turn on the wipers and see if I could get them running, and then figure out how to extend the linkage to get a full sweep.
Then I was going to gut the whole thing out, fill the two previous holes and drill a new one dead center.
The only thing is that I don't think the wiper motors currently in the car work

Should I just go junkyarding for a motor? Or are new ones not too expensive?
TIA

Conrad, see if this is what you had in mind. I personally don't like how those big plastic ones look, and I think this would look very nice. Let me know what you think.
PS: I made that wiper in ten minutes

quote:

Blae, thats it, how much do you want for it? I agree that it looks better than that big plastic crap. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

It is a modified A2 wiper arm I had lying around, so it won't fit on the Scirocco hub. I'll pick up a mono Scirocco arm tomorrow and modify it to look just like that one, won't take me that long (to make it look half way decent). It still has the off-set and everything for the wiper blade mounting. I'll also pick up some factory matte black touch up paint so it looks correct. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
