hi, I obiously have mods... just gotta have speed...jeje...
I have a problem...When I am runing from 0 to whatever (sometimes hit 120mph ..
) the car runs strong all the way.... but when I am driving normal, and lets say am running on 3rd and 2500-3000 RPM, and get a sudden urge to hit the pedal to the metal the car response strong... PSI goes up to like 11 and then lowers to 8.5-9psi... put as the revs go up I can feel some like power loses, put psi goes barely down, to lets say 7.8-8psi.... IS THIS A SURGE?
if so, why doesnt the car surge when I am like runing the 1/4 mile (0 to whatever jeje)

Re: what exactly is a surge? (warura)

A surge is going to be something a bit more crazy then this. My Cavalier used to surge when I was having problem with my spark plugs. The car feels like it's being held back by something even when you're gassing it, and it chugs along or sputters really badly. I'm not sure but I don't think you're surging..

Re: what exactly is a surge? (roly)

I've had surging. I've had my surging fixed. Do a search in the 1.8T forum. This topic has been discussed to death over there.
Check out my sig. That's why I had surging. I fixed it with a new N75 valve. Talk to a aftermarket shop you trust, they'll hook you up.
