I don't hink it retards I think that you get detonation and the computer retatrds the timing to compensate
not the best thing to do from what I've heard

Nope. The chip switches to a different mapping when NOS'd. I don't see Garrett producing a sub-standard chip like you are suggesting.
If you need more info just email them and give them details. That's all I did and they replied in a couple of days. No news on OBD II but they said that they were working on it.

how does it know whenyou are spraying
are you talking about the IBE chipswich
please let me know about this
I would be interested in an ODB2 chip for my Vr6
Re: What happen with the Garrett chip that retards timing when Spraying? (VReihenmotor6)

They said there's a switch that changes the chip. Here's the reply they sent me:

Dear Toby,
Thank you for your e-mail. This absolutely true. We have a new
product. A race switch that automatically switches from a non-nitrous
program to a nitrous program, which is triggered by the nitrous
itself. Please e-mail me your phone number we would like to discuss this
with you in greater detail. It is available in OBD I right now and OBD II
to follow.

Re: What happen with the Garrett chip that retards timing when Spraying? (1hotcorrado)

when will this be available for obd2
is this the IBE chipswitch?
Re: What happen with the Garrett chip that retards timing when Spraying? (VReihenmotor6)

Sorry volks, I have no idea. Please call or email them. What you see is all that I know...until I can get my own system
Unfortunately, that won't be for a while...

I think the are still developing it
Re: What happen with the Garrett chip that retards timing when Spraying? (VReihenmotor6)

I mailed them too
OBDI is out the door. They wouldn't say if they were working on an OBDII version, just that they had many projects and to check back later. Maybe if we all bug them they'll give more priority to the switchable OBDII NOS chip.
