I just want brighter bulbs than stock ones. they are a joke.

I agree... I heard the Sylvania Silver stars are supposed to be good... as good or better than the Philips Silvervision plus, and they come in those stoopid 9007 sizes unlike the philips. Has anyone bought these? Last I checked they had just come out and I couldn't find them anywhere...

Oh yeah, these have a slightly higher wattage. Is that bad? Does anyone actually have these?

I should add this.
Stock bulbs are Sylvania 9007 55/60W. The SylverStars are rated a little bit higher and I was concerned. I wrote an email to Sylvania customer service stating this worry of mine, they forwarded the mail to their engineering dept. The engineering dept came back to me saying that it was safe to use the SilverStars with our OEM wiring.
Feel better? I sure did.

Do you have these? How much did a pair run you. I'm interested...

Yes, I have them. No, I dont have a side by side pic of them VS stock; however, I do have seem then side by side. There is this guy in my office who drives a Jetta Wagon. One day we were parked side by side and I told him to turn on his lights (we get to work at dawn) so I could show him my new bulbs. They were a lot brighter, he said "I want!", I told them the price and where to get, and I also told him he could keep my PIAAs "not so whites", which he did. The SilverStars are brighter than the PIAAs.

Sylvania SilverStars! I just got them. Haven't installed them yet, but I'll try to get before and after pics this weekend. No search feature means I may never find this thread again, but I'll be sure to post it somewhere.
For us Canadians, you can get them at the Autobarn.com (it's in the Yahoo! shopping mall). Arrived within 5 business days (not too bad considering it was being inspected at Canada customs for a day or two). I'm afraid I'll get a bill from Canada Customs that will make me eat my words, but surprisingly, I was not charged any duty, brokerage fees, GST, or PST! Cost me $105 CDN ($50 + $15 S&H US at Autobarn + insanely weak Canadian dollar = $105). I should have ordered a bunch of them for us in the GTA and sold them to you guys to save shipping costs... Oh well...

I just installed the silverstars. I had naxos xenon blue b4 (100watts), and naxos was A LOT brighter than the silverstars. the silverstars emit a very white light.

But then again, your Naxos were rated at a way higher wattage than stock. You can't change the laws of physics. You need more watts to produce more light. If you keep the wattage the same, you can only increase light output a bit by tweaking the filament and gas fill -- definitely nothing compared to almost doubling the wattage like your Naxos.

The last time I checked, 55W/60W is stock wattage. (60W is for your high beam)

I use Pilot lights. Stock wattage & great quality for an excellent price. The lights are the same brightness & whiteness as the SilverStars (I gave them to my gf). Except I paid $10 less.
