Aisin I know makes some trannies for VWs... might be that 6sp auto in the Treg though... not sure

Aisin makes a bunch of random parts found in Toyotas. Thats all I know.

Yeah but they do make that 6sp auto in the Treg. I remember people griping about it when the Touareg forums opened up.
