If you read around, you'll see that it's simply not the case, but many dealers don't care. It's a dealer-by-dealer thing, really.
In the US, there's a law (someone will know the name) that states that a warranty cannot be voided unless a direct correlation between the "tampered" part and the broken part can be shown. So a dealer cannot legally claim that an aftermarket exhaust, for example, can be the cause of a blown MAF, etc...
Try a different dealer...
