ok guys, i'm just curious...can anyone tell me exactly what this is, because that looks like a 9A tranny (it definently has a hydrolic clutch) and that says 20v. 1.8....is this a 1.8 20v head, without the turbo and rotated? I may be retarded on this and you may write something and i'll immediately realize what it is....anyways, educate my a$$ guys

looks like a 1.8 20v. the valve cover and some of the castings on the head match.
as for the tranny, how do you know it's a 9A tranny? where's the hydro clutch? or am i missing it?

It is a NA 1.8 20V. The head is not rotated. 9A is an O2O tranny and uses a cable clutch (which is visible.)

I know this is gonna sound stupid... Does the 20V head bolt up to a PL block, or is it a built n/a AWW/AWP?

It does "bolt on" but you must modify the oil/possibly water passages and modify/swap pistons. That engine is the NA 1.8 20V that was offered in MkIIIs in ROW. It had 125 HP stock. You can/could get them from http://www.eurospecsport.com

Correction, that is raffi's car, but it is FAR FAR from being an IT car. He has an ITA 16v GTI, which is blue. This is just a "pet project" of his, and is not legal for much of anything.

From what I can remember, it is a ported and polished 20V head with carbs on top of a 9A block. The tranny is an 020 of sorts, probably with some crazy gear ratios.
