My stock tires were mushy around sharp corners, so now I'm running 35 all around. Can I go higher, or is that stupid?
What do you have your tires set at?

You can set your tires wherever your butt dyno says they should be at, as long as it's less than the max pressure listed on the sidewall.
The inflations recommended by VW (or any other maker) are a compromise between safety, performance and comfort. Feel free to experiment. A performance driver is going to be happier at the high load/high speed settings. Also remember that you'll get better mileage with harder tires, perhaps noticeable perhaps not.

What are the pressures recommended by VW anyaway? Are they following the stupid new rule in the U.S. that they are supposed to list only the max load pressures?
