Which is why I shied away from actually calling it that. Interesting. Guessing that was the factory.

I've found 3 colors of primer on this car. Mine is the same way. I find traces of when it was green. They used olive-colored primer.

I believe the green stuff is zinc chromate - an old timey, very toxic anti-corrosion coating.

The stuff for the glass/rubber seal is automotive bedding and glazing compound. It comes in a caulk tube. It can be put into place after installation, but that isn't the preferred way. It never fully dries so the glass could come out later.
