Well I broke the timming belt driving and everyone says the motor is going to be bad now. So here is the question, I have to tear it down and rebuild it, does anyone have any good suggestions of what to do to mod it out while it is tore apart? I have some money to play with but need some ideas. I haven't had a GTI since 91.

Re: What to do? (FDGTI)

About the motor being bad. Not always true. I forgot how, but there is a way of telling. Something about the pistons and the head. But look more into it. Your engine might still be good. On my MK III 2.slow, my timming belt broke and luckily nothing bad happened. Ended up replacing the cam shaft seal, waterpump, and of course the timming belt. Good luck! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
