It almost looked like a FedEx panal delivery van, but it was a Mercedes. Looked to be something of early-mid 90's. It had German plates on front and back and it was a diesel. It was done up as a recreational vehicle.

haha, nope, not the sprinter. Not that current design anyways. But it was about the same size.

Could have been a Ford Transit or Fiat motorhome, or maybe one of the smaller Mercedes vans (Vito?). I've seen those stateside from time to time, with German plates and all. When I worked for Pepsi, one of my vending machines was at an RV park in Deming, NM and one of the guests was a German couple with a Mercedes motorhome. Pretty cool looking.
