When I checked with my local dealer ship about the R32 many months ago they told me to monitor VWVORTEX because that's where they get the most reliable information about upcoming events. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Jamie http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
They also told me that I didn't need to put down a deposit to get on their 1st refusal list. They just took my name and told me I was the first person to contact them about the car and that they would contact me when more information was available. Since then I've received an update from them about once a month. So far so good right?
Maybe.
They did not want to take deposits for a couple of reasons. First was that they were not sure that they would be able to supply the car. Small market, No allocation, No reliable information at the time, Make more money selling whatever R32s they might be able to get to another dealer,.................. whatever their reason they didn't want to take a deposit on a car that they might not be able to deliver. Fair enough. Second, they had a very nice 1.8T GTI on the lot that I could have right away.
If my local dealer is unable to supply the car then I need a second choice. I could try a larger dealer several hundred miles away. They've said that they'll be gettting several and offered to take my money while I wait. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
If I don't buy an R32. I'm thinking about looking for a used VR6 and spending the money I'll save on building it up as my second choice.
What will you do if your R32 deal falls through?
