Yet another coolant question from me
....I wouldn't care so much about the fluxuation, but it seems to be getting pretty hot. When im cruzin down the road the needle moves farther to the right than id like to see, but when i sit for about a minute, it cools back down to normal.... Do i still have more air to burp possibly?? An over filled overflow tank wouldnt cause this would it (1 in over max line)? Damn cooling system!

Re: What would cause the car to run hotter when crusing down the road than when sitting? (OilSpotz)

Only time my car did this is when it was VERY low on coolant due to the old expansion tank to top of radiator hose splitting @ the radiator. I would suspect you still have an air lock somewhere.

It wont be cus you overfilled it, your possible causes are, air lock, headgasket, timing, mixture, airflow to radiator blocked, coolant not flowing fast enough (too much anti freeze, water pump, pump belt, blockage).

is it happening in the rain? the vbelt could be slipping..happened to me last spring...the faster I went, the hotter the car would run, when I stopped (this was before I installed a spalsh guard) the temp would come back down...

It should be good. I havent replaced it since i owned the car, but it was working fine before i replaced the water necks last week. It started doing this after i did that job (i believe beernutdrums was having this problem too).

If this is a new problem that started after you had the cooling system apart then there is a good chance that you have air in the system.
Here's what I would do;
Starting with a cold engine, remove the top hose from the radiator and fill the system from the hose. This should solve your problem.
Good luck,
