I got the ones that supposedly did but it was the same problem as my other set of struts, they are a sealed strut that can be opened but the little indentation stops the insert from going in. Could someone please help me.
This probably isn't going to help you much but as I understood it, any year can have either from the factory... when I replaced a friends suspension, Bilstein give an option of an insert and a complete assembly for his, seems both were available. (91 G60, he didn't know which he had so he just bought the full meal deal)
Huummm I used to have a pic somewhere. Well does anyone have a set laying around? This is so driving me nuts. I just need the housing itself that holds an insert. The suspension guys make it sound like at a certain point in time they switched to an insert. I just dont understand ha.
If your car has a plastic cover over the top of the front strut,it is early.
If your car has no plastic cover over the top of the front strut,it is late.
Springs and such are determined by this nice feature.
Atleast my H&R stuff was.
Try calling tech support from company you bought it from, they should know.Instead of resorting to bitching and whining on Vortex. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Right... Ok I asked for what year car the strut insert came in... Not early or late you a sshole. Does anyone have any other info, thanks for the tips cramer and g60vwr.
Well, you post asking about this at 12:45,exactly 14 minutes later you expect a instantaneous response? Get a life.
I believe its early that did have the insert.
Yea I think it was 92.5 as stated, same damn problem I had with my first strut haha. So now I gotta dig up a 91 G60 strut. Does anyone have a set for sale.
Thanks
Kyle
Not for sure, but I think A2 G/J strut housing might also work. I know that 4cyl. A2/A3 shocks are inter-changeable, so maybe the G60 as well. In which case they're plentiful in a junk yard.
