88 was the last year the U.S. imported them, I believe Canada imported them until 89 and Germany kept making them until 91 along side the Corrado.

actually there is a prototype scirocco 3 out there somewhere?? it is supposedly going to appear in 2003 ?????????????? with a sticker price of 30,000.00 us

UK Got Scirocco in GTX/GTII and Scala up to 88, GTII and Scala Until 92 Some rare Reg 93's too

A few 89s made their way stateside, but they're like hen's teeth, and I think were brought in from Canada. I'd heard something about a 'rocco 3 concept being kicked around, along with a new Ghia, but I don't see them coming to fruition any time soon.

I'm in the finishing stages of building a scirocco from scrap, so I guess that I have a 2002 scirocco. production could start next year, but there is WAY too much testing to be done before that.

Well, if its from scrap, then no, it won't be a 2002. If its from scratch (how?), then it would be a 2002.
