Holy geez!
It sure was an interesting race! Trulli did pretty well, and I bet there are a few teams mad at Sato for not taking his car out when they already knew he had a problem.
I thought it would be interesting for Schumi to finally lose a race, but the way he went out was kinda sad, don't you think?
Any news on what exactly happened to make Michael lock up and get in trouble?
The race was indeed worth getting up at 4:30 for! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: What'd you think of the Monaco race? (SpookyReverb)

i personally am very dissapointed on how schumi was thrown out of the race. JPM is nuffin but an A$Shole because who runs into the LEADER on a yellow flag lap with pace car in front of you when you are a LAP DOWN. Needless to say, JPM acted like a rookie out there, schumi was heating his brakes and JPM didnt even slow down to avoid him, instead he tried to pass him. What an idiot, i hate this guy even more now.
On the flipside, this really was the best race of the year. All the accidents made up for the lack of passing and open space racing we are all accumstomed to. I am very happy to see that Renault and BAR are really coming to be. Trulli's performance, as well as Button's, was remarkable.

Awesome race! I don't think it was Sato's fault, BAR should have called him in. I glad Fisi is ok, he's lucky his head wasn't crushed by the armco. Ralf is a jerk for pulling that BS move on Fernando, did anyone notice how he let somenone else by in the tunnel just a few laps later? It looked to me like he lifted in the middle of the tunnel and then hit the gas just as Fernando came up alongside him which forced Fernando into the marbles. Jenson is the MVP of the race for me, he kept the pressure on when so many others would have settled for second. Best race so far!

Yeah! I was wondering about Montoya, something looked pretty fishy, the way he got in the way and bumped Michael.
But who knows? Maybe it was indeed an accident? Either way, I agree with you about it being the best race so far this season!

Re: What'd you think of the Monaco race? (SeXy20th)

Yup, interesting race indeed....
I think here's who's fault....
Alonso passing in the marbles inside the tunnel..... Alonso's fault.
BAR not pulling over Sato's car...... BAR's fault.
Michael warming his brakes in the tunnel....that was tough to watch. But I say it's Michael's fault.
I say even if Michael didn't wreck, w/ his 2nd pit stop, he would have only came in 3rd anyway. Even as a lifetime Ferrari fan, I'm kinda glad to see Ferrari didn't win this race, so no more BS speculations that Ferrari will win all races this year and how F1 is boring..... But you know Michael and Ferrari will be going to Nurburgring w/ more hunger and anger.

You don't lock your brakes to warm them. Schumi made a stupid mistake. JPM took evasive action, but Schumi shut the door. I am a Schumi fan, but that was not JPM's fault. I roadrace, and always you get black-flagged for brake-checking under caution. Don't let your feelings about JPM an Schumi cloud your view of what really happened in the tunnel.

I'd dearly like to see JPM suffer as much racetrack misfortune as possible but the tunnel incident was clearly not his fault. MS should be fined for screwing around in the dark like that but in the end it didn't affect JPM too much and MS was out so a fine would just be silly.
Moment of the race: Alonso giving RS the finger while still sliding backwards
Honorable mention: MS smashing the sh*t out of his very expensive helmet.

Of course you do.
As for Juan taking evasive measures, that's bull. His car also has brakes. He should have used them. And it's not like he slightly brushed against him, he rammed him with force. Also,-- just because the pace car is out, it doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention to what's going on in front of you.

How are your brakes warming when the rotor is completely stopped?

JPM avoided to the right, MS should have been aware of that if He were paying attention behind the safety car.

wow thats actually a f1 race not a ms training video. it goes to show you when you got too much of yoru car based in aerodynamics it will not help you at all in a slow course. looks like ferrari got cought with thier pants down, seemed like they were just not on but rb said his car was having problems. and ms looked like he braked hard to heat up his brakes and jpm was flooring it to heat up his tires and two negatives don't make a positive and hit a slowing ms. reall bad luck for ms. i don't like him but he is the best f1 racer out there bar none. but i wish jv would come back cuz he can dominate with the right car but who knows. trulli finally made it through a race and didn't screw up and palced on the podium finally in first. one of tehe longest bad luck periods otu there looks like bar is not doing the best with what they got as compared to the underpowered reanult . ms would have made it a really good race if he wasn't hit cuz he wanted the record for the lognest finning streak in a row .

No, but braking hard upto the point that the brakes lock is a more effective way of quickly warming the brakes than moderate braking over a longer period of time.

The point is that JPM could have done more. But, yes, you're right. MS should have payed attention to his rear knowing that this maniac is behind him.

Not really. Did you see how quicky Michael was catching up on Kimi just before the first pits? And the times that he was posting afterwards? Ferrari's strategy was not to push it hard until a few laps before entering the pits. They knew that passing is virtually impossible so no one benefits from constantly riding on someone else's behind for 20 laps.

Re: What'd you think of the Monaco race? (SpookyReverb)

Man. What an exciting race. I just love Monaco.
This is my assessment of the race (Me: German and MS and Ferrari fan):
JT/Renault: http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif (well deserved)
TB: http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif (pushy and well deserved)
MS:
(not his fault, could have been more careful)
JPM: http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
(pure hate, dumb, reckless not aggressive, could have done more to avoid the situatation; needs to grow up or sell his F1 license on e-bay)
Alonso:
(What the hell did he think to overtake in the tunnel...)
Sato/BAR:
(irresponsible)
McLaren: http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif (too bad for the drivers)
RB:
(They should exchange him to some more hungry driver who wants to get more out of the car after all he drives a Ferrari...)
Now let the flames begin...

Just to be fair, I think there were a few lap traffic overtakings in the tunnel that didn't end in hitting the wall . . .

I think the MS/JPM incident was equally each driver's fault. Whatever Schumi was trying to do, he shouldn't have brake checked like that. I'm sure JPM wasn't exactly expecting Schumi to lock up the brakes in the middle of the tunnel. However, JPM is also at fault because he should've had his eyes open a little more. Although noone expects the driver in front of them to brake check for no reason, he should have been able to avoid a collision without plowing into the back of Schumi. Hell, one thing race drivers (especially in F1) pride themselves on is quick reflexes. The incident should've ended with JPM coming close to hitting MS, not ramming into him.

This is not the first time MS braked checked someone. He did the same crap in at Monza in 2000 while following a safety car on the approach to the Parabolica. This caught off Jenson Button and he steered into the grass and crashed. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

totally agree http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif very interesting race indeed, lots of mishaps, congrats to Trulli http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif and sato's engine blowing
they should of took him off the track well before imho, he was smoking for at least a lap if not more? as for Alonso's outside pass in the tunnel
And wtf is happening with West, man that teams had some bad luck
KR and JPM for west next season should be quite interesting, and JV w williams, maybe this season???

Great Race! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
The MS/JPM thing was fishy. MS didn't lock his brakes, he only locked the left front tire. Probably caught some debris under that wheel WHILE warming the brakes. Chalk it up to bad luck.
As for Montoya: He shouldn't have been following so closely. Did you see the space between him and MS, compared to the space between JPM and whoever was behind him? No excuse to tailgate the leader, behind the safety car, especially when your a lap down

And yeah, did you see the laptimes MS was putting in before he pitted? 1:14.4's?!? he was flying! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
All in all, a very entertaining race. Nice to see JB do well and see someone other than Ferrari win.

dood,
did you pay any attention at all? do you know that the tunnel is a right sweeper? the body roll on that MB safety car would indicate that he was going fairly quick, quick enough to make that sweeper a blind sweeper for the next couple of tenths of a second ahead of you.
what juan needed (contrary to your advice) would be miss cleo on the radio warning him of the next bonehead maneuver going on in front of him.
