11.10 was the best time.
He could have easily been in the 10's no problem, but Bill raced his car a "daily street driver" with full interior, cage,etc., etc. If that car was gutted...then you would see mid 10 second passes....

oh man where to start. its not in scott carpenters car. parts of it are but not everything. most of it is scotts own doing. i have heard numerous stories about schimmel and his car and his way of bussiness. but whatever the car was nice even if he built it or not. i will leave it at that.
