What's a good VW Dealership for service in the Northern NJ area? Anyone have any particularly good experiences? Preferably in Northern Bergen County, but anywhere else is okay, too.
Re: What's a good VW Dealership for service in the Northern NJ area? (vwgtirob)
just bought my car from crestmont in pompton plains ...
the service department is kinda shady i woudln't go there for service...
i was waiting for them to install my in dash cd player and this guy came in and was explaining to them how much oil to put back into his TDI. He was just like us, very picky when coming to his car, and after he left, they all started clowning on him ... i didn't really appreciate that since the guy only cared about his car .. the lady was saying how all the techs are trained by vw blah blah ... but to me that doesn't mean they are perfect, actually i'm sure some, if not most, are far from perfect...
moral: i wouldn't recommend crestmont ... if i need service (knock on wood) i would go to either east coast in englewood cliffs, jack daniels, or maybe 3 county in lyndhurst ... i haven't heard much about any of them, i'm just going by their proximity to my house ... any other thoughts/suggestions would be welcome

CRESMONT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! My girlfriend got into multiple fights with the service manager (97 Jetta GT) about the car. He would end up explaining things to her like he was talking to a little child, b/c he was under the impression that because she is a "female" that "they don't know anything about cars". As soon as I walk in, he's all nice again. I told him off, received an appology, and we never went back again. I just bought my car from Trend Motors in Rockaway on Rt 46. Awesome service dept., to my experience anyways. Give them a call.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Joe Heidt in Ramsey, NJ. I bought the car and have had all scheduled maintenence done with them. I also have had a MAF and water pump replaced under warranty, no hassles, straight up good service. No dings or damage to exterior, and no grease monkey marks on the interior. Highly recommended! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Oh yeah, Trend has been the same way with me too - no exterior/interior damage or a car full of fingerprints. Hey, I almost forgot, they WASHED my car for me too! No joke!! I can't believe I forgot that, but I remembered as soon as I saw Neo's post.

When I used to live in Northern NJ (Fort Lee), I leased by Golf from Joe Heidt. I thought they were the best dealership in Bergen County. I went to Three County, Jack Daniels, etc. and I really liked Joe Heidt. It's a weird combo though, it's a VW and Buick dealership.
Oh, I miss the days of multiple VW dealerships in your county. We have only 1 here for the whole area.

trend just jerked my friend around for 3 weeks on a car, and when we made special arrangements to go there and pick it up, we got a call that it wasn't the right car, it got on the truck from CT by mistake.
4 weeks after he started, he got his car, and not a penny / anything for his troubles.

one of my co-workers had good things to say about Newton Motorsports where he bought his WE ... Crestmont had a good price so I went for it ... as for service, looks like it will be Joe Heidt, as Trend is a bit far from where I live .. *bump*
PapoGti is from Fort Lee but I'm not sure where he bought his ...
Thoughts/Comments on East Coast in Englewood Cliffs?
Re: What's a good VW Dealership for service in the Northern NJ area? (vr6dubber23)
Actually, I bought my car at East Coast. I've been there twice already for the scheduled maintenance on my car. NO hassles with my car or the service, they seem pretty cool. I've only been there for oil changes but, l feel pretty confident with their service. They seem very cool with aftermarket stuff, they didn't even ask or question any of my stuff.

Just moved from Philly to Englewood and had to go to EAST COAST when my driver's side window reg choked. I have the extented warranty. They called the warranty company and approved the repair. The only problem was they had to order the regulator. Took my car in on a Monday. They told me it would be ready on Wednesday. When I went to pick my car up the service guy told me he wasn't sure the regulator came in. I was about to throw a fit but he checked with the parts dept. and it was there. They fixed it O.K. but I'm not ready to call them "MY" dealer just yet.

Three County in Lyndhurst was always very good. They fixed my 9 problems correctly the first time. I highly recommend them.
I recently moved to Morris County. Trend fixed my tenth problem for free even though just out of warranty. They took me within 24 hours and I waited 30 minutes and I was on my way.

I have had good experiences with Newton Motorsports and I would recommend them..... Trend is only 5 miles from my house, but they have not been good to me, so I go all the way up to Newton for any stuff I need....
For trend to get my business back they are going to have to give me a smokin deal on the new 24v GTI when it is out....
