Re: what's involved in installing a shift weight and/or a short shifter? (estus)

for all our a2's im pretty sure its just a rod and a small metal bar. it is fairly easy to install. make sure have small hands and can reach a tad behind the tranny. you need simple tools. I think a 13mm socket wrench and i used pliers for the pins. good luck

Re: what's involved in installing a shift weight and/or a short shifter? (eastcoastdubs)

I have not done the short kit yet, but I just welded a thick steel bar onto the shift like that runs parallel to the front of the car near the transmission for a weight and I can feel the difference. You can look at the factory Mk3 Golf ones first if you need reference, sorry no pics. It is very easy if you have welder and steel, just pull two pins and attach, then paint, replace rod, and go.
