Sounds like my father in law who is also Yugoslavian and an electrical engineer.
My brother-in-law has messed up a few times doing electrical jobs around the house. My father-in-law always gives him a lecture: "Theres a right way and a wrong way to do things and you always choose the wrong way". Man, I won't even attempt an electrical job myself lest I get the same lecture.

This porcupine crap has to stop. Is there no serious people here anymore?
The guy is trying to make a decision for his future, help him out, or stay out.
Have to admit it is funny, but where do you draw the line, these forums are ridiculous sometimes.

Yup. But don't worry. The person/people who keep posting it think we can't trace it back to them.

Re: whats the best college for auto mechanics in toronto??? (VWguy)

I was in your shoes about a year ago . . .
The best solution is to work at a garage under an apprenticeship program. It's cheaper (in the long run) when compared to college, and you get paid to learn, basically. If you decide on college, you will still need hours on the job to get your certificate. Apprenticeship is often overlooked, but if you lay it out, Apprenticeship is way better. Especially if you're a hands on learner. DON'T get the impression that apprenticeship is a way out of college, you still have to go for 3 periods of two months, I think the fee just went up, IIRC. THe only downside to doing it through apprenticeship is you have to find a journeyman (Someone who is willing to teach you), but luckily if you can get into a good company (Volvo trucks paid your entire tuition costs if you'd work for them) I probably sound like your guidance counsellor when i say this . . . but contact the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship program. Trades workers are in high demand (My p/t job is in Plumbing) I found out, that you can start an apprenticeship as soon as grade 10 in conjunction with your high school. This means by the time you're 21 it's possible that you could be a full fledged licensed mechanic!
But before you go full on with the auto technician, you gotta make sure it's what you wanna do for the rest of your life. My father started out in auto mechanics now he's a truck and coach technician, He never wanted me to be an auto. tech. because he knew what the life was like. Tools cost money, lots of money. He's got about 20 grand in tools, not diag. equipment! In the winter the cars are wet and dripping with road grime. It's not a glamorous job. I realized that although it is something i'd like to do, i'd like it more as just a hobby, not something to make a living off of. I'm currently at Georgian College studying Mechanical Engineering Technology - Automobile Manufacturing, and I'm really happy here. I'm still intersted in Mechanics, but it's something i'd learn on the side. But if you really wanna become an auto technician, best of luck to you http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
