Re: whats the compression on 2.0 block 8v head (knife)

Jay, if you are talking about a late 80's Audi 3A block with a solid or hydro lifter VW 8V head it will be 10.5:1 compression for either head. This is the set-up I will be using.

Re: whats the compression on 2.0 block 8v head (A1Rocco)

i cant figure out what it is. the crank is a audi only and i cant find the block casting numbers
in the AERA casting books. the crank is a 3d casting on the side of the block i found 2 stickers
that say it was remaned in canada for audi and the pistons do come above the deck at least
.010 going by the bore and strock it dose come up to a 2.0 and it did have a dohc 16 valve head
on it.

Re: whats the compression on 2.0 block 8v head (lotus7)

Ireally have no idea what was available here in the different Audi models becuase they are incredibly rare. I don't even know if I've seen and Audi 80 or 90, and then there's the 100 aswell. In not even sure we had all three models. I couldn't tell you what they llok like and that's rare for me cuz I know my cars pretty good.

Re: whats the compression on 2.0 block 8v head (citat3962)

I don't think we ever had Audi 16V's here but perhaps the 9A was available here is one of them. As I said there are very few Audi's around here in those models. We see S4's, or other larger ones.
My block is a common 3A bubble block. There were lots of those available in the early 90's thru places like RPI, and several of the other parts houses around greater Vancouver. I think mine originally came from RPI, was used for 15,000km, then somehow became the property of the guy I bought it from as a short block who made a living fixing and modifying VW's locally. His partner and friend at the time was the present owner of RPI, Dustan Woodhouse. I bought it for $1300 CDN and rebuilt it with new german bearings and rings. Had it balanced and it's been in storage since 93. Still need more stuff for it and to finish the head with a cam and a valve/seat grind. KS, exhaust stuff, motor mounts etc.
