Whats the deal with the ABD Lower IC pipe?

Was wonderin ....alot of people have some not so nice things to say about this product...I myself was thinkin about gettin this mod...can anyone give me some info about fitment.,..promblems ...etc....

People have had different problems with fitment...some say its too long, some say too short, some say bends and bolts are slightly off...i would stay away from this product. Get the Forced Performance pipe(s). They fit much better.

I think Forced Performance discontinued those pipes. ABD is the only one available, I think.

yes I have one and it fits fine some of the people that say it does not fit have never had one, just going by something that was said long ago.

Um I have one and I had to use a tire iron to get the damn thing on! The fitment is pretty crappy I hope they've fixed it. The bolt hold didn't line up and it seemed a bit too long.

I have had mine since I got my car. It fell off a dozen times. But this last time it fell off, I cut the bracket piece off and got more tubing to hook the IC tube too. I haven't had problems with it since. If I were you I would go with it, just mod it a little. But I didn't feel any performance gains from it. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

why are you suggesting he get that part if its fallen off of your car a bunch of times, and didn't give any performance gains??

that doesn't make ANY sense.

The one I saw was junk.
There are certain rules you follow when building IC pipes. The ABD pipe followed none of those rules.
Unless they have redesigned, I would stay away from it.

VWTornado, All it takes is alittle time and the IC pipe will fit and not fall off.

My point is that it is supposed to be a "bolt-on" mod. You shouldn't have to screw with anything, especially changing the tube or any of its parts to "get it to work". I wouldn't recommend a part to anyone that needs a lot of (or any really) modifying to fit. Especially when its called a "bolt-on".

if samco offered to replace it and other rubber hoses with a black silocon set I would do that. Just cuz I dont like the amount of flex I already see int he rubber portions of the system. Who needs metal anyway.
