OK Guys,
What's the latest and most accurate info on the timing belt replacement recommendations??? I have seen so many different numbers, I don't know what to believe. I am getting ready to order my 2002 Jetta TDI 5 speed. One sales rep told me still 40,000 for the manual. Another rep at another dealership actually (I kid you not) told me the VW's have had timing CHAINS for the last three years and never need to be repaced! I knew that was BS! So, do you think the discrepansies are because of the "K" factor? "K" for thousand and "K" for Kilometer? Thanks for straightening this out for me! Mary
