Why do so many mk1's have this paint scheme I have seen different older German race cars with this Jaegermeister sticker on them too is that all it is about or is there more history behind it?

If I'm not mistaken, the story here is that if you paint your car in that particular orange and send pics to Jägermeister, they will supply you with official stickers for the car.
Of course, you can just hit up Ebay.de and buy them there ... but that's not the same thing.
Now, if I only knew the code for that color .........

This is a factory color.
It's Panama Brown (Why they call it that, I have no idea) It's a dirty orange basically.

Did some searching around various German sites, and the official paint code is:
Jägermeister-orange RAL 2004

Now, someone just has to see if PPG can match that code and give you the US equivilant.
And no, it's not a factory color, it is 100% unique to Jägermeister racing cars.

Well, I did more research .. and apparently the RAL codes are industrial powdercoats at PPG.
Here is the colorchart .. look for RAL 2004 ... it's from PPG so they should be able to match it to a regular automotive paint:

I was going to paint my car yellow in a few weeks, but if I can get free Jägermeister stickers, I think I can live with orange...

orange is key......plus cars are key......plus alcohol is key......therefore an orange car with alcohol stickers (even if it is Jägermeister) is damn close to the best thing in the world
