During the course of the "Worst Car Ever" thread, I mentioned my choice of the AMC Pacer. Well, I did a little research on the web, and discovered there's a whole organization dedicated to people who collect the things:
http://www.amcpacer.com
That got me to wondering: what are the cars people on the Vortex want, but wouldn't admit to? Not collectible classics, but either old cars that might be kind of cool, or real oddball vehicles like the Pacer.
Personally, I'd love to have an AMC Eagle wagon from the mid 80's, to run over all those Subaru Outbacks with.

I'd like a 1986 subie wagon (the older round ones with hi-lo 4wd) those OWN!!!
but I'd rather have a Scrambler...(I personally think they both are pretty...though most don't)

Re: What's Your Secret Longing? (fore)

My buddy had an old subby like a 91 or 92 wiht over 300,000 miles with all service records and yes it was wheel drive with the old puch button to engage it. We put the largest 14 inch tires we couls find on it blacj out the steelies and put 4 giant rally fogs on the front. It was slower then a son of a bitch but it would sling mud and snow. It was fun. He sodl it for 2800 bucks after buying it for 2000.

Re: What's Your Secret Longing? (bgluckman)

There's really nothing too secret about my longings, but I would want this exact car:

I consider this one nearly perfect, but to fit the object of my longings the only things I would change would be:
- Stock steel hood.
- Polished Torque-Thrust Ds.
- Paint it Red.

In reality it is the first Sport Utility Wagon, not Subaru Outback http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif .
