My Passat has the sport package and 18 inch Samarkand wheels. I bought the stock 16x7 wheels to mount snow tires on. My dealer tried to install them today, but told me that they don't fit over the brakes. Are the brakes different on the sport package? Or is the dealer messing with me? Thanks so much.

The brakes aren't different on the sport package, however, the 3.6 & 3.6 4motion have larger rotors than the other Passats... they are large 13 inch rotors. I ran into the same problem myself when deciding on winter wheels... I guess there are some clearance issues, some 16's will fit, most don't... so your best bet is to go for 17" wheels to avoid any problems. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
